Growth Monitoring Programs:
All the children were administered vitamin A in July. In September, a general health check-up was conducted. All the 74 children were examined. Some of the following problems were identified among the children - ENT, Skin infection, dental, worm infection, under-weight and cardio-vascular. As advised by the doctor, iron tablets, syrup 'B' complex and calcium syrup was administered to 23 needy children.
Supportive programs for education - A) Summer class was started in collaboration with the B.M.C. (Bombay Municipal Corporation) for the first time in May '98. 30 children attended the class, out of which 17 children were enrolled in BMC-run schools and 18 were enrolled in an Urdu school. B) Non Formal Education : A total of 24 children attended this class.
Balwadi Teacher's Training
The 6 month training course started in July '98. There were 22 female trainees.

Sexwise distribution of the children and results
For the year 1997-98, there were 117 children out of which 109 children appeared for the final examination. Results of 108 children were received, while 1 girl who appeared for her S.S.C. examination is awaiting her results.
2. Sponsorship Program
A) Details of the sponsorship money distributed for the
children in the quarter are as follows,
In the community, recreation sessions were organized for the children twice to thrice every week.
On 15th august, a handwriting competition was organized.

Turning Point in the life of Chikuwadi
The people of CHIKUWADI, have got their own houses. Inauguration of the new houses was done on June 19th and people started living there. Now, 144 families are living in the temporary building and 64 in the permanent building. People are facing electricity and water problems.
